(۱) دل دہلانے والی،
The event that terrifies the hearts!
(۲) کیا وہ دہلانے والی،
What is the event that terrifies the hearts?
(۳) اور تو نے کیا جانا کیا ہے دہلانے والی (ف۲)
And what have you understood, what the event that terrifies the hearts is!
(٤) جس دن آدمی ہوں گے جیسے پھیلے پتنگے (ف۳)
The day when men will be like scattered moths.
(۵) اور پہاڑ ہوں گے جیسے دھنکی اون (ف٤)
And mountains will be like flying wool.
(٦) تو جس کی تولیں بھاری ہوئیں (ف۵)
So for one whose scales prove heavy,
(۷) وہ تو من مانتے عیش میں ہیں (ف٦)
He is therefore in the desired bliss.
(۸) اور جس کی تولیں ہلکی پڑیں (ف۷)
And for one whose scales prove light,
(۹) وہ نیچا دکھانے والی گود میں ہے (ف۸)
He is in the lap of one that abases.
(۱۰) اور تو نے کیا جانا، کیا نیچا دکھانے والی،
And what have you understood, what the one that abases is!
(۱۱) ایک آگ شعلے مارتی (ف۹)
A flaming fire!
